NEWS: BRICS Parma Coordinator Prof. Lucia Scaffardi participated in the drafting of the T20 Policy Brief “Improving G20 Effectiveness and Accountability.”

As part of Task Force 06 “Strengthening Multilateralism and Global Governance”, Prof. Lucia Scaffardi, Coordinator of the BRICS Parma Research Group, participated in the drafting of the T20 Policy Brief “Improving G20 Effectiveness and Accountability”, published on the G20 Brasil 2024 website.

“The informality of the G20 raises questions of legitimacy, transparency, representativeness and effectiveness. Despite the development of accountability tools, independent evaluations show that G20 members fulfill their commitments on average only 71 percent of the time,” as stated in the ‘Diagnosis of the Problem.’ Moving from these premises, the expert group formulated its 'Recommendations' and outlined its 'Outcome Scenarios,' which can be found at
